June's Tips
I am always surprised by the beauty, diversity, vigour and fragility of our gardens in every season, never more than when we have heavy downpours. For we have exuberant growth on plants dressed in their luxuriant green, a profusion of buds promising splashes of vibrant colour and soft blousy roses, perfume carried on the breeze and promise of so much more to come.
General tasks: |
 |

• Keep hoeing, weeds are hiding, flourishing and setting seed in our wet and warm conditions
• Create slug pubs with equal quantities of beer and garden vinegar placed in shallow containers in beds
• Zap aphids with a strong jet of water where the force won’t also kill the plant or spray with garlic tea
• Spray weeds in patios, paths etc with full strength white or cider vinegar before they set seed |
