September's Tips

Officially summer ends in 3 weeks and you all ask ‘What summer’. Our gardens though have enjoyed the warm, wet weather; lawns remain green, plant growth sprawls profusely producing an abundance of flowers and fruit, some apple trees are flowering again.

General tasks:
	• Prevent weeds setting seed, hoe before they flower, they thrive in this weather • Take photos before you begin to cut back and clear in the autumn. We do not remember what was where • Commence clearing leaves and debris, shred and compost all arisings • Bin or burn any diseased growth on shrubs, herbaceous plants and vegetable leaves
