September's Tips

Officially summer ends in 3 weeks and you all ask ‘What summer’. Our gardens though have enjoyed the warm, wet weather; lawns remain green, plant growth sprawls profusely producing an abundance of flowers and fruit, some apple trees are flowering again.

General tasks:

Prevent weeds setting seed, hoe before they flower, they thrive in this weather
Take photos before you begin to cut back and clear in the autumn. We do not remember what was where
Commence clearing leaves and debris, shred and compost all arisings
Bin or burn any diseased growth on shrubs, herbaceous plants and vegetable leaves
